Supervise the team of Mechanical Technicians and CONTRACTOR to provide quality maintenance activities for mechanical system and equipment, to ensure the smooth
functioning of COMPANY Plant.
HND or Diploma in relative discipline or its equivalent. Alternatively, a trade test witnessed by COMPANY discipline Engineer.
More than 10 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance work in the petrochemical/oil and gas or power generation industry with at least 5 years as a Mechanical Supervisor.
a. English language read, write and speaking to IELTS level 4.
b. Able to work with computers, word, excel, and windows and good understanding of CMMS.
c. Robust knowledge and understanding of various process equipment
d. Experienced in and be fully aware of the different pipes, gaskets and bolting materials.
e. Experienced in overhauling of equipment like various types of pumps, fans, blowers, reciprocating compressors, etc. at site.
f. Strong leadership skills to drive efficiency and productivity amongst workforce.
g. Able to creatively work with COMPANY to remove any blockers to Hands on tool time
h. Meet all requirements for Senior Mechanical Technician as stated under S/N 11 below.
Good interpersonal communication skill, supervisory skills, problem solving skills and time management skills.
a. Apply the approved standards, procedures and schedules to ensure the reliability and integrity of the Plant equipment and systems in the allocated area.
b. Supervise all field work of the area and ensure sufficient and suitable resources and equipment are available to complete correctly all assigned activities through
utilisation of COMPANY workshop, Contractor Yard workshop or external vendor repairs.
c. Contribute to the development of specific procedures, work instructions, repair plans, inspection and testing schedules and ensure compliance.
d. Contribute to the development of maintenance plan by providing details of work scope and required resources and comply with the established schedule.
e. Implement the scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on relevant equipment and ensure all work history and data is entered into the CMMS system.
f. Responsible for providing qualitative work on mechanical equipment, ensure correct equipment installation, testing and proper specification and selection.
g. Mentor Mechanical Technicians to help Oman nationals become competent Technicians.
h. Ensure that WORK is carried out in accordance with the QHSE policies and procedures.
i. Perform alignment work with laser alignment equipment and dial gauges.
j. Carry out Flange tightening by Hydraulic Torquing and tensioning methods.
k. Supervise up to 10 Mechanical Technicians, Welders and Pipe Fitters.
l. Organise the materials and equipment for the WORK.
m. Trouble shoot, test and propose repair methods.
n. Plan associated activities, scaffold, electric cable work etc. well in advance.
o. Remove and reinstall all rotating equipment.
p. Responsible for developing and managing the logistics required for executing the maintenance services, which includes but not limited to transport of manpower,
transport of equipment, materials and equipment leaving/arriving, catering arrangements (during mobilisation) and optimal work layout of equipment.
q. Ensure sufficient and suitable resources, material and equipment are available to complete correctly all mechanical WORK assigned to the Technicians.
r. Acquire PTW certificate and carry out all the responsibilities of PTW Holder.
s. Work extended hours and respond to call out duties as and when required.
